Ankles

My voice sings a song I don’t recognize
All the city lights go out

If I breathe, I'll change bit by bit
Leaving the city, I'm searching for a flower

Still, my familiar ankles run away
Still, my familiar ankles have run away

My voice keeps on singing a song I don't recognize
The dream is over
Though I tell such lies

Still, my familiar ankles run away
Still, my familiar ankles have run away

They’ll disappear tomorrow
Even if these footprints disappear

I'll sing, I'll sing a song

Peppermint¹

My white shoes got dirty and I cried a little
The things he gave me
I lost them every time
I thought I didn’t need them anymore…
I didn’t want to realize it…

But I intend to blame it on the peppermint
You would’ve understood
Unwinding my tangled hair
I said sorry and lowered my eyes

Room flowing with foreign music²
Ignoring the sunny afternoon
I looked for treasures with you
I should’ve given up already…
Surprisingly unsatisfying happiness

But I intend to blame it on the peppermint
You would’ve understood
Unwinding my tangled hair
I said thanks and kissed you

But I intend to blame it on the peppermint
You would’ve understood
Unwinding my tangled hair
I said bye bye and left the room
