Kandata prays clinging to Shaka
My loyalty is to you, my Shaka
Have you forgotten your deeds of past lives?
Is the shining spider Shaka’s messenger?
The next to follow Buddha is Kandata
A flower of paradise, looking to the future
The little glimpse of enlightenment rings out loud
Blessings to all, Bumshakaraka
 

BUDDHA, now the light shines upon you
BUDDHA, the sound of the hell’s bells echoes
BUDDHA, let’s offer this prayer
 

My Buddha, my Buddha
 

BUDDHA, the way of life is the path of asceticism
BUDDHA, if you can’t follow it, you’re a miser
BUDDHA, if you don’t believe, THE END
 

I am Buddha, I am Buddha
 

This shining thread falling into hell
At your feet, belonging to no one but you
The small spider sent by Shaka
When you saved it, you heard a sound
Kandata begs and gathers here
Arrogantly stealing from the master
Distributing among his companions, earning daily bread
Pray to me, as if I were Buddha
Suddenly, the end came
One swift blow, it’s the final hour
The traitors cry out in victory
Farewell, Kandata, the demon peers down
Kandata ends with resolve
If you trust no one, it’s simple
Even in the afterlife, I will reign
The next Buddha will be me, Kandata

Kandata holds the dead spider
My Shaka has a sorrowful face
Just once, please forgive me, my Shaka
Panicked, I discarded the spider’s corpse
My Shaka vanishes from my sight
Kandata, at the very bottom of hell
