Asked my girlfriend

We will set some roots somewhere?
At Saguenay or in Côte-Nord? 1
We will stop at some point?
Asked me bluntly my dear half
Think about it
Are you for real?

I have worms in my ass
And ants in my legs
Just from thinking about it, don't you know?
Even such that I get butterflies in my stomach
Some times I'm looking for a crib to buy
The next day for a one way ticket to anywhere
I'm as stable as a puff of meth
I change my mind more often than I change underwear

What will you do if we are broke?
Will yo go back to work?
Asked my girlfriend
And me to answer back :
Think about it,
Are you for real?

It's been fifteen years since I held a shovel
And it won't be tomorrow the next time
I would be ready to do many petty things
Even returning to selling faith
But in the mean time I sing songs
I'm a man-orchestra at home
And if I absolutly must
Well I return to sing, in the metro 2
To hell the mortgages in 25 years
Should we sell everything and get the fuck out of here? 3

What will you do if I get wrinkles?
What will you do if I get a belly?
Asked my girlfriend
And me to answer back :
Think about it,
Are you for real?

Stop drinking and you won't get a belly
Stop laughing and you won't get wrinkles
But it's written in crow's feet that you have fun
In your extra pounds that life is great
Who gives a fuck, are you for real?
You're much cuter when you're happy!
Much more than botoxed, with your fingers in the bottom
Of your throat

Take on more REER than debts
But what is your plan for retirement?
Asked my girlfriend
And me to answer back :
Think about it,
Are you for real?

My retirement is already done
Twelve years in BC 4
Everyday is like saturday
Removing your shoes every day in 'i' 5
And why not also sunday
And with eight years in China
Never had to rise up early
To have a retirement
I'd have to start by even once working

To hell with the REER in 25 years 6
Why don't we sell everything and get the fuck out?

Why don't we make some kids?
Are you game to start our family?
Asked my girlfriend
And me to answer back :
Think about it,
Are you for real?

If a cat doesn't bear pups
It would make for some strange birds
Probably like me an iron-cast child
We'll give ourself some serious worries 7
If the apple never falls far from the tree
Hey! priest we are in deep shit
When you're named Father Tremblay
It does bode well, to be padré

Should we grab some land to put our seeds?
A small farm, accountable to none?
Asked my girlfriend
And me to answer back :
Think about it,
Are you for real?

I don't think I'm at that point
A lil' redneck return to the land
A good ol' tractor to beat
And a good amount of 4x4 scraps!
It seems to me like it would be crazy
I would finally sharpen my Stihl
To make my own wood.
Cuz' I'm more Stihl, than Husqvarna

To hell the plans for in 25 years
You won't see me get out of my land

Do You [Still] Want Me By Dawn?

Two lit candles by the table
The silence is speaking
I'm obsessed
Enchanted night
Everything outside is still
Your desire glistens in the corner of your eye
My heart pounds
Today will soon be yesterday

The enchantment takes over
And hot feelings sedate us
My self defense [mechanism]
We give and take
But the question lingers on

Tonight I'll make your body and soul glow
Do you [Still] want me by dawn?
In the darkness of the night our love can feed
But do you want to love or run away?
What'll happen next?
What'll happen next?

The first light of dawn
Is soon outside our house
But yet still
We have the night
I want to give you a memory
Something for every sense
So enjoy and feel
And the truth
Can wait a little longer

We meet and we disappear
But if we run out of time
We'll get to stay
And get an answer
You remember the question

Tonight I'll make your body and soul glow

Tonight I'll make your body and soul glow

I'm Still Not Giving Up on Getting the Credits I Need

—This is the story of a certain student, the story of a foolish student who, with exams approaching, starts panicking because he hasn't done anything to do with the exams.

End-of-term tests start tomorrow.
I have to study, I have to take them seriously.
The way it's going, I won't get the credits I need.
It's really bad, it's really bad.

I get back home, put down my bag,
look around, my room's a mess.
It starts bugging me, my room's a mess.
I have to clean up, I have to clean up.

—Next, the student begins to tidy his room. Time relentlessly passes, the date advances. The room's a mess, study hasn't begun.

Tidy up my room! Hurry! Hurry!
What the exam'll cover! Where did I put it? Where did I put it?
Rely on my best guesses! Pray! Pray!
Dawn's not far away! Rush! Rush!

The day of the exam, I slept in.
What a thing to happen! If I jump out of bed,
I'll still be on time. I burst out of the house.
I wait obediently at the red light.

I basically run, sometimes I walk.
By breathing's heavy, my head hurts.
But I don't give up. I won't give up yet.
I'll sit the exam, I'll get my credits.

—One misfortune after the other befalls the student who foolishly woke up late. Nevertheless, the student still won't abandon hope.

To the appointed place! Run! Run!
The end-of-term exam! Take it! Take it!
Sleepiness whispers! Sleep! Sleep!
Beat the drowsiness! Wake up! Wake up!

—Overcoming various trials, the student made it to school in one piece. Thus he can finally sit the exam unashamedly.

I got, I got to the appointed place.
I took, I took the end-of-term exam.
I'm worried about the results! How will it go? How will it go?
All I can do now is pray! Please! Please!

The day after the exam, I slept in.
But it's OK, today's a day off.
I welcome a refreshing morning,
look around, my room's a mess.

I'm tired so I'll leave it as it is.
Next time I feel like it, I'll do it then.
For now, I'll sleep, just have a break.
History will repeat itself again.

—This was the story of a certain student, the story of a foolish student who right before his exams felt like tidying up his room. Now as for the exam results …?

And Come On

And come on, and come on,
you already knew for a long time
that this love of ours
had been with others,

that all of my dreams,
I would never have achieved them,
that I was yours for life until
you had someone else like me.

But come on, but come on,
I already knew for a long time
that these words of mine
I told you were perfect.

And that love at this point
was over already for a long time.
I'm only afraid to tell you because
I'd not have found someone else as dear as you.

So goodbye, best wishes to you
and so goodbye, best wishes to me too.
What's the point of staying together now
if everything's over between us?

So goodbye, best wishes to you
and so goodbye, best wishes to me too.
What's the point of staying together now
if everything's over between us?
What's the point of staying together now
if everything's over between us?
What's the point of staying together now
if everything is over between us?...

It's Christmas

I don't know which star brought you here
And my life was filled with 'I love you'
And I left all my sorrows in the past
They have become love, they have become love
Look outside, it's covered in snow for good
Let's go and play like children
Thousands of lights shine rhythmically

Let it be the beginning
My love, the beginning
All the Christmas together
It's more than just my wish

All the Christmas together
It's from now on my only wish
All these years and celebrations
Let me be in your arms
Let you be in my arms

All the Christmas you should say
Even a thousand and two lives aren't enough for me
To have you here by my side
Every Christmas

It's Christmas
It's Christmas
It's Christmas
It's Christmas...

I don't know if it's a miracle
Or if I'm living a dream
But everything has festive scents
And all the mistakes
They are left the deep

They've become love
They've become love

In front of the fireplace
We're making our own fire
It burns and warms up our own heart
Christmas songs on radio again
They sound loud, very loud

All the Christmas together
It's from now on my only wish
All these years and celebrations
Let me be in your arms
Let you be in my arms

All the Christmas you should say
Even a thousand and two lives aren't enough for me
To have you here by my side
Every Christmas

It's Christmas
It's Christmas
It's Christmas
It's Christmas...
